Myx Floor

A 1x1 meter soundabsorbing panel placed on a wooden frame(pine). The piece was a redevelopment of the Myx sail material developed in 2019. The piece was selected for the Annual Mindcraft 2023 Exhibition and The “Why” Exhibition touring Danmark, Norway and Sweden. Standing upright and in a bigger version of the mycelium sail, the piece is constructed as a layered flat panel in a 5 cm thickness consisting of Eelgrass, wood wool, jute net and a hemp fiber matt. The mycelium interacts with the cellulosic parts of the materials and combines all the layered materials into a solid structure. the wooden frame is a collapsable and lightweight structure intended only as a fixture of the mycelium panel.
